ZELF vs Linktree for agencies: what client pages cost in rands
Five client pages on Linktree Pro cost about R11 880 a year at today's exchange rate. On ZELF they cost under R40, once. What you gain, and what you give up.
Short answer
For one personal page, Linktree's free plan is hard to beat. For an agency, the difference is billing: Linktree charges each upgraded page as its own plan in dollars, so five client pages on Pro cost about R11 880 a year at R16.50 to the dollar. On ZELF the same five pages cost 40 credits once, R28.57 to R40.
Linktree is the best-known link-in-bio tool, and for a single creator its free plan does the job. Agencies hit a different problem: every client brand needs its own page, and Linktree bills each upgraded page as a separate plan, in dollars.
Below is a straight comparison for a solo agency running five client brands, using Linktree's published US prices and ZELF's own credit prices on the same day. ZELF is our product, so we have stuck to published facts and said where Linktree is the better fit.
A year of link pages for 5 clients
What 5 client pages cost over twelve months. Linktree bills every page as its own plan and quotes in dollars; it says prices vary by region, so check yours at checkout. ZELF charges once per page.
| Option | What you get | One year, 5 clients |
|---|---|---|
| ZELF | First page free, then 10 credits once for each extra page. Each page has its own address and the client's colours, with a small "Made with ZELF" link at the foot. Nothing renews. | R28.57–R40.00 |
| Linktree Free | Free pages, but the Linktree logo stays on and Linktree takes 12% of digital product sales. | Free |
| Linktree Starter | US$6 a month per page, billed annually. The Linktree logo stays on. | R5 940.00 |
| Linktree Pro | US$12 a month per page, billed annually. The cheapest plan that hides the Linktree logo. | R11 880.00 |

How to choose between ZELF and Linktree
- 1 Count the client brands that need their own page, and decide whether the client will accept a tool's branding on it. Linktree removes its logo from the Pro plan; ZELF keeps a small "Made with ZELF" link on every page.
- 2 Match the features to the job. Linktree is stronger for selling digital products, scheduling social posts and Instagram auto-replies. ZELF is built for client pages, with QR codes, image jobs and invoices in the same account.
- 3 Price a full year in rands at your client count, using the table above, and allow for the rand weakening on dollar plans.
- 4 If clients will edit their own page, check the access model. On ZELF a client only sees their own page inside your team; on Linktree you add admins to each Linktree.
Which tool fits which agency
One creator, one page
Linktree Free or a free ZELF page both work. Choose on the features you need, not the price.
Five client brands
Linktree Pro for each brand costs about R11 880 a year. On ZELF the five pages cost 40 credits, once.
Selling digital products
Linktree has a built-in shop with seller fees that drop as the plan goes up. ZELF does not sell for you; link out to your own shop instead.
Frequently asked questions
Is Linktree cheaper in South Africa?
Linktree says its prices can vary by region and shows local prices at checkout, so check yours. The table uses its published US prices converted at R16.50 to the dollar, checked on 10 October 2026.
Can I move a client from Linktree to ZELF?
Yes. Rebuild the links on a new Zelf, then replace the Linktree address in the client's bios, Google profile and email signatures. Printed codes that encode the Linktree address keep pointing there, so leave the old page up until you reprint.
Does a ZELF page show ZELF branding?
Yes, a small "Made with ZELF" link sits at the foot of every page. Everything else carries the client's own colours, buttons and photos.
